Web Designer Notebook » Are CSS Frameworks Evil? →
I’ve mentioned above that I believed CSS frameworks to be ‘the easy solution’. I still think that’s true, but I don’t see it as a bad thing: why spend hours creating perfectly hand-crafted CSS layouts when there are excellent foundations that we can build upon already out there? Life’s not just about coding (really) and there are better things that I can be doing with my time than creating...

Cereal Marshmallows →
Ever wish your Lucky Charms came without the toasted oat bits so you could just get straight to the sugar buzz? Pick up a bag of Cereal Marshmallows ($8/2 bags). These mass-sourced marshmallows come in half circles, squares, quarter moons, and triangles, or enough varieties to keep even the staunchest of future diabetics cereal fans happy.

A Victim Treats His Mugger Right →
Via RELEVANT Magazine - Forgiveness In Action Julio Diaz found himself in the position of many New Yorkers when he was robbed at knifepoint. But his response was not ordinary. He offered his robber his jacket, saying the thief would be cold if he was going to be robbing people all night. And it just gets better from there. An amazing story of reconciliation and selflessness…

iPhone 4 GUI in Photoshop →
esbueno: Geoff Teehan over at Teehan+Lax has followed up their iPhone GUI PSD with a new one specifically for the Retina display found in the new iPhone 4. This was no doubt a time consuming process, so this time you can donate if you find the PSD beneficial. Don’t be shy now.

Transcript of Today's Apple iPhone 4 Press Event
Apple: The iPhone 4 has the same problems all other phones have when you hold them, we just made the mistake of pointing out that our antenna design was better than anyone else's, even though we knew when you held it it would turn to shit. Oops. Basically, we shouldn't have to be any better than anyone else, because all phones suck.
Users: But we're dropping calls.
Apple: Yeah, but only one more than normal. So shut up.
Users: Right, but when I'm talking to a client and--
Apple: And look, we'll give you a Bumper for free. They're normally $29, but we're gonna make you schmucks happy and give you all a free one. That will solve this problem.
Users: But you can't use the dock with a Bumper, and you can't use most of the car accessories with a Bumper, and the Bumper makes it hard to put the phone into your pocket which means you're more likely to drop it, and--
Apple: Free Bumpers. Shut up.
Users: Okay, what about the proximity sensor?
Apple: Yeah, yeah. Stop complaining about that. We're working on a fix for that and we'll release it at some point.
Users: So in the mean time, we'll drop calls without a Bumper and we'll put people on mute and speakerphone accidentally with the proximity sensor issues.
Apple: Yes. The iPhone 4 is the best smartphone on the market.
Users: But what about--
Apple: Did you see the fucking charts? Shut up.
